  • That depends on your child’s age and grade level and the time of year.

    If your child is 1 to 3 years old, contact us at sdcc@sdcchoir.org to learn more about Toddler Time music classes.

    If your child is 4 to 6 years old you can enroll in our Early Years Program by clicking here. If classes are not yet available on our registration site, please check back soon for the next session offerring.

    If your child is at least 6 years old and in the 1st-3rd grade you can enroll for our Preparatory Choir by clicking here when enrollment is open. Generally, enrollment is open July - mid September for the fall semester and November - mid February for the spring semester.

    If your child is grades 3-12 we have multiple choir options. You can see them all on our Programs Overview page. Before you enroll for Apprentice, Intermediate, Premier and Chamber. You must first sign up for an audition for the upcoming semester. If no audition dates are available, please check back soon or email sdcc@sdcchoir.org. After the audition, you may enroll for the program once it’s open, which is generally from July - mid September for the fall semester and November - mid February for the spring semester.

  • We have programs for children ages 1-18.

  • Yes, we offer needs-based scholarships for our Ensemble Program (grades 1-12). Email sdcc@sdcchoir.org for a scholarship application for the upcoming semester.

  • There is a drop-in fee for Toddler Time classes. The Early Years Program can be prorated if you join mid-session but you are welcome to try a class.

    For students in grades 1-12, enrollment closes after the first couple rehearsals. If the class falls into that first couple of rehearsals you can certainly come and sit in.

    Note: There are limited spots available at each site. If you wait to do a trial class there is a chance that the class may fill up.

  • For our introductory music classes for 1-6 years and for elementary choirs, no experience is necessary. It is only for our middle and high school choirs that we expect experience, but it doesn't have to be in choir, it can be from learning music reading through piano lessons or as an instrumentalist in band or orchestra.

  • No preparation is needed. Just bring yourself!

    The auditions are low key. Our Artistic Director will run your child through vocal exercises to get a sense of their voice and pitch matching ability.

    Those auditioning for our advanced choirs (Premier and Chamber) will also be assessed in sight reading.
