Al Abdallah currently serves as the president and CEO of the Urban League of San Diego County. Abdallah worked for State Farm Insurance Auto for 26 years, first as an Auto Underwriter and then as an Auto Claims Adjuster, Claim Support Services Supervisor, and Auto Claims Team Manager. While working at State Farm Insurance, Abdallah joined the Board of Directors of the Urban League of San Diego County and served as Board Chair six years after which he left the board for his staff position as Chief Operating Officer and now president and CEO.

Jan Dziewior is a registered nurse with more than 25 years of management experience in healthcare, working both in business and hospital intensive care settings. Her clinical experience spans the critical care and trauma arenas while her business experiences span multiple positions across clinical, sales, marketing and quality functions. Management positions have included both domestic and international responsibilities spanning over 14 countries across England and Europe.


Roy Gonzales, Board Treasurer
Senior Vice President, Translational and Non-Clinical Research, Ventyx Biosciences

Roy Gonzales is Senior Vice President of Finance and Principal Financial and Accounting Officer at Ventyx Biosciences. He has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical, medical device, transportation, and consumer electronics industries. Before joining Ventyx, he began his career at KPMG LLP and has also served in various finance leadership roles with companies such as Dexcom, Arena Pharmaceuticals, and Landos Biopharma. Outside of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, he also held positions at Norfolk Southern Corporation, Sony Electronics, and a contract role at Invesco US. Roy received his MBA from UCLA, a BSBA from Old Dominion University, and a BA from Virginia Tech. He is also a licensed CPA in the state of Virginia.


Lys Boltz, Family Associatio Co-Chair
Community Volunteer

Lyz Boltz is an active community volunteer, serving on the School Board and PTO at River Valley Charter School, as a committee chair for CYT San Diego, and as a weekly volunteer at Legacy Church and The Well–Community for Women in La Mesa. She lives in San Diego with her husband, Scott, and is the mother of three and grandmother of two. Her involvement with the San Diego Children’s Choir began in 2015, when her youngest daughter, Bailey, joined the Preparatory Choir. Bailey is currently a member of the Chamber Choir.


Katina Mitchell
Freelance teacher and musician and Music Faculty, Palomar College

Dr. Katina Mitchell is a musician and teacher based in San Diego. She began her singing career as a chorister in the San Diego Children's Choir and has since sung professionally as a soprano with organizations such as San Diego Symphony, Monday Evening Concerts, MicroFest LA, Mainly Mozart Festival, Volti, and Lautten Compangey Berlin. A lover of choral music, Katina has sung as both soloist and chorister with the San Diego Master Chorale, Sacra/Profana, and the Schola Cantorum of St. James-by-the-Sea. Katina holds degrees in music from Rice University and the University of Southern California. She is a member of the music faculty at Palomar College and teaches voice privately.

Dr. Kathleen Ogilvie is the Senior Vice President for Translational and Non-Clinical Research at Ventyx Biosciences.  In that role, Kathy leads the effort to predict the effects of potential therapeutics in the human body.  She currently serves on the Salk Women & Science subcommittee for mentorship and has previously served the San Diego chapter of the Association for Women in Science in several roles, including 2 terms on the board of directors as Treasurer. In the course of her 20-year career in San Diego pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, she has received several performance-related awards, led or made major contributions to 14 clinical candidates, published more than 30 papers, and mentored numerous scientists to promotions and graduate school. Kathy’s son is an alumni of the San Diego Children’s Choir.

Philomena Walsh is a sales and marketing professional with more than 25 years of experience in technology, life sciences and biotechnology firms most recently as Sr. Director of Corporate Marketing at Illumina, Inc. Philomena’s marketing experience includes global marketing strategy, digital marketing, and integrated communications. She spent 10 years in various sales roles including account management, sales training, and sales management. Philomena graduated from San Diego State University with a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing. She is passionate about creating meaningful messaging and communications campaigns that promote awareness, drive growth, and improve audience engagement.


Lucy Wei, Family Association Co-Chair

Lucy Wei was the Founder and President of Allegro 3D, Inc. She led the successful development and launch of its commercial products. In 2022, Allegro 3D was acquired by and merged with an international corporation. Although Lucy got her master’s degree in engineering, she loves music and used to play accordion. She has explored different work experiences with multicultural backgrounds throughout her career. She is passionate about bringing music to families and communities. She has a son in Chamber Choir who has been with the SDCC since he was six years old.


Pamela Wong Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, Myriad Genetics

Pamela Wong - As former Executive Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, Wong is responsible for leading Myriad Genetics’ legal function, including support and counsel for all legal affairs, intellectual property (IP), patent protection, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, regulatory and quality assurance, compliance, and government affairs. She is an experienced legal executive who excels at developing efficient solutions to help businesses succeed. Wong has a demonstrated history of protecting and commercializing innovations in a global environment, and her practical approach integrates law and business to help business partners reach their objectives. Wong is a member of the San Diego Master Chorale and serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors. She has a son in Chamber Choir and a son who is an alumni of the San Diego Children’s Choir.
