With our 35th Annual Spring Concert still a recent memory, we found ourselves filled with pride, joy, and a little nostalgia. Among the hundreds of young voices that graced the stage were nine remarkable seniors who are now turning the page on an unforgettable chapter in their lives with the San Diego Children’s Choir.
These students have spent years singing, learning, growing, and leading within our Choir family. They’ve traveled the world, supported one another, and brought countless performances to life with passion and dedication. As they head off to college, we honor their achievements and send them our warmest wishes for the adventures that lie ahead.
Read on to meet the extraordinary members of the Class of 2025 and learn where their next journey will take them.

MATTHEW ARCE has been with the San Diego Children's Choir off and on for 4 years. One of Matthew’s favorite memories while in choir was the first time he learned Blue Skies with Mrs. Orem in Apprentice Choir. This fall, Matthew plans to pursue a career in music at California State University.
CRYSTAL CHEN has been with the San Diego Children's Choir for 11 years. One of her favorite memories while in choir is goofing around backstage, quietly dancing to the songs while waiting for her turn on stage, reminiscing whenever the younger choirs sang songs she sang before. This fall, she will be going to UC Berkeley with the intended major of Applied Mathematics.
TIA CLEVENGER has been with the San Diego Children's Choir since 2016. Her favorite choir memories include performances with the San Diego Symphony's Noel Noel, the 2019 Denver Summer Tour, 2023 Vienna Summer Tour, and bonding with other choristers backstage at concerts. Tia will be attending UC San Diego this fall as a Political Science - Public Law major.
EMILY CORPUZ has been with the San Diego Children's Choir for 14 years. One of her favorite memories is the 2022 New Orleans summer tour, especially singing with friends on the bus and sharing music beyond the stage. She will attend Laguna College of Art and Design this fall to study Entertainment Design.
TRISTAN ELEAZAR has been with the San Diego Children's Choir since January 2023. One of her favorite memories while in choir was rehearsing On the Transmigration of Souls with Professor Gerdes and the La Jolla Symphony and Chorus! The piece was so moving and emotional, and the whole process was such a challenging and valuable growing experience. This fall, Tristan will be studying Philosophy, Politics & Economics at University College Dublin with hopes of continuing to swim, debate, play viola, and, of course, sing while in Ireland!
LIZZIE FRIEDBERG has been with the San Diego Children's Choir since kindergarten, for 13 years. One of Lizzie’s favorite memories is being onstage with all the people that she loves and creating something extremely beautiful. Hearing the art that is created onstage is the most astonishing thing to her. Choir in general has brought her out of her shell and taught her life lessons about socializing, communication, and kindness. She has learned an extensive amount about herself through choir, and she is happy to have learned and grown with the people she loves. This fall, Lizzie will be studying Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at SDSU.
ANNA HUBBARD has been in the San Diego Children’s Choir for six years. In that time, they've grown out of an inability to stand still, and into a community that has some of their closest friends (and some really amazing music). This fall, Anna will be pursuing a dual bachelor’s in environmental science and vocal performance at the University of British Columbia.
JULIANA LOW has been with the San Diego Children's Choir for 11 years. Juliana's favorite memories while in choir include going on tours and exploring the cities with friends, whether that be in New Orleans or Vienna, Austria. This fall, Juliana will be attending UC San Diego, studying computer science and hopefully joining the La Jolla Chorus or San Diego Master Chorale.
RYAN ZHU has been with the San Diego Children's Choir for one semester. One of his favorite memories while in choir was singing for a couple's proposal at Kate Sessions Memorial Park. This fall, he will be studying biology at UC Berkeley.
To each of you, thank you for sharing your voice, your heart, and your time with us. We are endlessly proud of the people you’ve become and can’t wait to see the harmony you bring into the world.
From all of us at the San Diego Children’s Choir, CONGRATULATIONS, GRADUATES! Keep singing, keep dreaming, and stay connected. To graduates and alumni alike, we look forward to seeing you at future Choir performances.
