Looking for opportunities this Spring to enjoy music? The San Diego Children’s Choir has some great options for you with our Spring performance schedule. We kicked off the season with a performance at St. Mark’s Concert Series March 17th. The concert featured our Preparatory, Intermediate and Chamber Choirs. This weekend offers two exciting concerts. The SDCC Premier Choir is opening the San Diego Sings Festival Saturday, April 6th at 7:00 pm. Hosted by the Choral Consortium of San Diego, this festival features 15 area choirs in three concerts at the Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center, Baker Baum Concert Hall. Along with Premier Choir, the San Diego Saint's Choir, Stellarum Chamber Choir, San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines, and San Diego Gay Men's Chorus will also be performing. Also on Saturday, April 6th, the Intermediate Choir performs as part of the La Jolla Playhouse WOW Festival at 11:45 am at the La Jolla Playhouse. The festival is free and has family friendly events and exhibits. Learn more about this FREE event here.
We always enjoy collaborating with our friends south of the border and Sunday, May 5th we will have an opportunity at The Sea Unites Us, a free concert presented by Mainly Mozart Youth Orchestra and Promotora de las Bellas Artes from Tijuana. The concert is at 5:00pm at the UCSD Epstein Family Amphitheatre. SDCC’s Youth Chorale and San Diego State University’s Chamber Choir will join as guest contributors. Fast forward to June for three exciting events.
On Saturday, June 1st, join us at 7:00 pm for the SD Master Chorale: Stage and Screen performance at First United Methodist Church. SDCC’s Chamber Choir will sing alongside Master Chorale members in a number of the evening’s selections. Performances like these act as a bridge for SDCC’s advanced choristers in preparation for professional singing post graduation. Tickets and details here.
Our favorite event of the season is the San Diego Children’s Choir Spring Concert, Sunday June 2. This concert celebrates the conclusion of the 2023-2024 season and features all our ensembles. Two concert times are available at 3:00 pm and 6:30 pm at the Conrad Center for the Performing Arts. Tickets available soon!
Singing the National Anthem at the San Diego Padres is always a highlight for choristers and this year the San Diego Children’s Choir takes the field at Petco Park on Saturday, June 8 at 5:40pm as the Padres play against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Tickets available for purchase through SDCC soon.
