Our Children Need You Now More Than Ever

As an SDCC alum, you know the joys choir brings to the lives of our choristers. The skills, the performances, the friends! On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary, think about how wonderful it would be to provide the same opportunity to a child who otherwise would never have the chance to experience all the benefits that singing and touring with the San Diego Children’s Choir provides!

Polly Campbell Legacy Fund - San Diego Children’s Choir (SDCC) was founded in 1990 by teacher and music professional, Polly Campbell. Polly recognized the urgent need to give children access to music education when it was no longer available in public schools. The Legacy Fund was established to ensure the long-term viability and stability of the San Diego Children’s Choir by providing support for operating expenses, as needed, to keep tuition low enough to make Choir accessible to all San Diego Children. The Polly Campbell Legacy Fund supports educational and general expenses.

Ensemble Program Scholarship Fund - The Ensemble Program Scholarship fund supports over 40 choristers each year and promotes music education and performance. Choristers, who range from Pre-K to 12th grade and come from varied ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, participate in five age-based groups and rehearse during the school year in locations across San Diego. The Choir develops choral techniques including sight singing, ear training, and breathing and blending techniques, while simultaneously imparting life skills such as cooperative effort, responsibility, and a passion for music. Scholarships support rehearsals, retreats, uniforms, performances and vocal coaching.

Elizabeth Peterson Tour Scholarship Fund - Many of you remember Elizabeth Peterson, who loved traveling as much as singing. Think about how wonderful it would be to provide the travel opportunity you had for another chorister. The Tour Scholarship Fund helps finance summer travel for Premier (Concert) and Chamber (Youth) Choirs. Your gift supports travel, performances, lodging, transportation, and meals.
