A World of Music Summer Camp 2019

Treat your child to a fun-filled week of singing, dancing, and art inspired by the vibrant heritage of Mexico! “A World of Music” Summer Day Camp, from June 24 through 28, will take children on a cultural journey through Mexico’s unique customs and traditions.
Activities are tailored to age and skill and are led by San Diego Children’s Choir staff and accompanied by Teaching Artist Cynthia Carbajal, from the Center for World Music. Carbajal is an local bilingual elementary school teacher with a passion and expertise in teaching and performing Ballet Folklorico and Son Jarocho. Carbajal is a performing Son Jarocha singer and dancer, has been teaching and sharing the customary music and dance.
The week will be spent learning about Son Jarocho music. It culminates in a performance for families showcasing the song, dance, percussion and crafts of Mexico! Each child will receive a commemorative San Diego Children’s Choir t-shirt and all the materials needed for an exciting concert for family and friends at the end of the week.

Time: Monday–Friday 9am-3pm daily**
Includes T-shirt, performance materials, and a free final performance. $20 deduction for each additional sibling.
