Off to Sydney We said goodbye to our home stays, some of which were so good, both Julienne and Lauren want to move to Canberra. On our way out of Canberra, we stopped to sing for the US Ambassador who came out and said hello! It was a four-hour trip, but we stopped once we entered metropolitan Sydney to visit a traditional sheep ranch, or rather a tourist site that teaches visitor about the traditions. We earned our welcome by serenading the lunch crowd, and endeared ourselves to the ranch hands who saw value in our singing even though we had to many city sensibilities. We learned how to use a whip (yes many were purchased to bring home!), throw a boomarang, and saw how to shear a sheep. A bonus was the birth of twin lambs during our stay. All were awed by the process of the birth. titlehough this stop put us a little behind schedule, we arrived at the youth hostel in time to get some dinner. It was dark so the delightful setting of the place was a mystery until morning. Return to Australia Tour Itinerary |
