In Canberra we were hosted by the Woden Valley Youth Choir, a group that had been hosted by SDCC in 1996 on their tour of California. Canberra is the capital of Australia. It is a planned city, the home of parliament, war memorials and galleries. And yes, we visited them all. The national museum was exceptionally enjoyable, but singing on the parliament steps was bad either!
Our day began with Alfa, director of the Woden choir, took us to a local golf course, where lo and behold a mob of roos lived. It was a real treat, for we had seen lots of kangaroos, but none so close.
