San Diego Children's Choir, Pacific International Children's Choir Festival |

The last day was awesome as the children would say. We went on an excursion to The Oregon Museum of Science and Industry where the choristers were given the freedom to explore and have lunch on their own before returning to San Diego. They did not have to stay in chaperone groups, they only had to have a partner at all times. We as chaperones watched the choristers slowly move around the museum walking, exploring, shopping, and eating, and quietly talking (never once having to say "Quiet, you are to loud"). It was a beautiful day inside and out. Many pictures were taken by the water and lunch was divine as the breeze blew upon the relaxed faces. After the museum we boarded the bus that took us to the airport. Our driver pointed out some mountain sights as we traveled. Once we got to the airport we checked in and went to our boarding gate. Since we were early, as we always are, the choristers were allowed to go get refreshments for the plane ride home. The flight was smooth and many slept. Once the captain announced that we were about to land the plane came alive with choristers saying that they could not wait to see their families. The anticipation was like a live wire fanning through the air. Once we landed and got off the plane many had to go to the rest room. While waiting, Dr. Froese gave last instructions and thanked the choristers for doing a great job. It was indeed a joy to see all the families waiting with flowers to greet their chorister. Your faces said it all. We were all glad to be reunited as families. Home Sweet Home. Respectfully submitted by Veronica Belser, Head Chaperone. Return to Eugene Festival Tour Itinerary |
