Hello Everyone, This recap of the day is coming from the chaperones. We were all excited today because we got to sleep in. As usual we started our morning with a breakfast and then the children were off to practice for the Gala Performance to be held Monday night. The children were all excited and ready to perform. After rehearsal they were ready to have some major free time. We broke into groups and went shopping on and off of the campus. Choristers had a great time walking, talking, and laughing while enjoying the coolness of the day. After shopping they went to their rooms to rest before dressing for the concert. They then had an early dinner for the last time at the dorm. We have to say that the students got a good picture of what college life could be like. They had to be dressed and ready to go at certain times and they were responsible for being on time. After dinner choristers went to their rooms to check their dress and then departed on buses for the Gala Performance. They arrived at the theatre around 6:00 and went straight to the stage for a sound check that took over an hour. They were then ushered back stage for a water break and restroom break. At 7:30 they were back on stage for their performance. The 300 young peoples choir did an outstanding job. The composer Mr. Jager was in tears at the end of the performance. Dr. Snow's ability to direct such a large group came through as the children performed some amazing music. We also had one soloist from the choir who did an outstanding job and that was Charlotte Wen. Christopher Ranger also brought chills to the audience as he came out, stood and gave a side profile of himself as he looked to the stars. He looked a great deal like the child who was portrayed on the poster of "I Dream of Peace" the musical score the children performed. What is so amazing about the resemblance is that the Disney artist who painted the child in the picture did not use a model. Chris R. looks just like the child. After numerous curtain calls the children were put back on buses and then taken to a pizza parlor for food, fun and laughter. After the party we all returned to the hotel to start the journey home.
