Day 4 was one of the hottest. It was "HOT' ! It was a record breaking day for Eugene, Oregon. It was in the high 90's throughout the day. We got up, did our normal routine and went to our 2 1/2 hour practice. We broke for lunch and then we had a little free time. Some of us went to the room to read and rest (catch up on some sleep) and some of us went to the Natural History Museum in walking distance from campus. We then got back together and went to a private workshop with Dr. Snow the PICCFEST director. This was great and she had some thoughts on how we could improve but overall she thought we were great. She listened to a few pieces of our music and only helped us with one...just goes to show how talented your little babies are (he, he, he).

After the workshop we boarded a bus to go to the 5Th Street Market and the Saturday Market. Because of time we decided to go to the Saturday Market. We had a great time at the market. There was everything from painted rocks, to zen gardens, and the sweet smell of incense. You are probably wondering why the incense? The Saturday market vendors were all hippies. They were some of the most magnificent people we have seen. The people played music, danced, and ate. They gave us a feeling of the whole world being happy and groovy. There were also the sweetest little hippie children, products of there parents affection. It was an aboslutely marvelous adventure.

We headed back to catch our bus so we could get back to eat dinner and go to another "Sharing Our Music Concert". We got a little worried when the bus pasted by without stopping. We called our wonderful tour guide Zach and he said he would see what he could do for us. However, while talking to him the driver came back. He said he thought our group had a special charter and that is why he did not stop. The local city transportation system here has been transporting us to the places that are to far to walk. He saw our need and returned to save us.

We got back for dinner and even had time to get cleaned up after being in hot sun before going to the concert. Four choirs performed and we ended the evening with a strawberry shortcake social. It has been an eventful hot tour but all is good. We are excited about tomorrow because we get to sleep in. The other group will let you know about that.
