Hello Everyone,

It is day three of the tour here in sunny Oregon. As usual we woke up very early. We went to breakfast and once again rice was on the menu as it is for every meal. However there are many other options such as, pancakes, waffles, cream of wheat, cold cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, eggs, bagels, sweet rolls, toast of every varity possible, breakfast casseroles, juice, milk, soda, coffee, etc. This is only a few of the breakfast items maybe the next group will tell you about lunch and dinner.

We hand another long practice today, 3 1/2 hours with our conductor Mrs. Snow who is extremely enthusiastic. After practice we went to lunch where the excitement was building in anticipation for the opening ceremonies for the Bach festival. During practice Mrs. Snow helped us to get into the music by imagining ourselves dancing in the medieval times and we also took a trip to Africa and did some tribal chanting.

We had an early dinner and finally we get to the festival. We performed the songs we had been working on so hard with the other choristers. Many pictures were taken of us by local photographers and television stations. After the pictures we went into the theatre to here Jeptha, which was a performance with full choir and orchestra. There were also five soloists, soprano, alto, contra tenor, tenor and bass. After intermission, SDCC was the only choir to stay for the rest of the performance. Although some of us "nipped off to dreamland" (namely Dr. Froese) it was a great performance.

The concert was over at 10:30 and we took a bus back to our dorms. All of us were starving since we had an early dinner. Be begged our chaperones for food (not really but this sounds good) which they provided. Finally we retired to our rooms where we fell immediately to sleep (at least that's what the chaperones think).

Respectfully submitted by Jeanne, Catherine, Jessica, Jordanna, Stephanie, Erica and Leslie (Mrs. Smith's Chaperone Group).
