We arrived at the airport on time and had a very smooth check-in process. Thanks parents for getting your child to the airport on time. We boarded the plane around 10:00 a.m. It must have been a funny sight for the other passengers when we boarded the plane and all the could see was a sea of red shirts emboided by teenage choristers. The flight was smooth and the view was outstanding. We arrived safely around 12:20 p.m in Portland, Oregon where we all retrived our luggage without any of it coming up missing. We then got a deluxe air conditioned bus and departed for our 2 hour drive to Eugene, Oregon.

We made one very important stop and that was to have lunch at either McDonald's, Taco Time or Dairy Queen. We then continued with our drive to the University of Oregon. During the bus ride Dr. Froese had the choir practice there music for about 30 minutes. The scenery during the drive was a big change from San Diego in many ways. The temperatures are in the 80's, the skies are sunny and clear and there are tons of beautiful trees of all shapes and sizes.

We arrived at our deluxe accommodation dorm rooms (wink) and received our room keys and meal passes. We then went to a brief orientation before going to dinner at 5:00. After dinner we met all ten choirs at the Central Lutheran Church where we heard some outstanding groups sing their choir's pieces. It was a great treat to hear music song from these amazing voices across the U.S. We then attended a reception and headed back to our dorm rooms.

Before settling in we had a brief meeting. We discussed wake up times and exercise groups for those who wanted to get up to run or walk before starting our day two of PICCFEST 2003.

Respectfully submitted by Chelsea, Samantha, Allie, Ali, Tiffany, Charlotte, Alissa and Candace (Mrs. Belser's Chaperone Group).
