A tearful departure from Newcastle Emlyn was followed by a sleepy-eyed bus ride. On the way to Bath the troops stopped at a Welsh historical museum which was filled by with enthusiasm, history and a religious structure that looked like Stonehenge, lovingly dubbed "Woodhenge." Upon the return to England we found ourselves in Bath, the city famed for being the site of the ruins of the Roman Baths. After an interesting tour by a local guide, the group toured the famed baths. Amazing times were had, mainly due to the audio devices, the ruins themselves and to the sampling of the rancid-tasting water, complete with 43 minerals and fabled to cure every imaginable ailment. After the baths and completion of the tour we arrived at our second youth hostel. Much to our coach driver Mark's delight, the hostel could only be reached on foot, due to the steep, long, narrow hill that could not be navigated by bus. Thus, the hill was ascended by exhausted choristers, who arrived to find rooms of up to ten beds each - at the top of many steep stairs! The hostel offered many entertainment's in addition to climbing, including treks into the surrounding "forest" (which was about 8 meters wide), attempting to identify the contents of dinner and practicing circus arts with some visiting street performers. The most enchanting option, though was sleep - a long travel day in exhausting. Love, Clarissa of the twisted ankle.
