Yes, we were here once before - with our lady!

Today we went to many places. We started off at our youth hostel and ended up in Wales. We even went to the birthplace of Shakespeare and sang in the cathedral where he is buried. This day was very exciting.

To tour the house where Shakespeare was born you first pass through a museum describing his life. It was so neat. I was amazed how many children died when they were just babies. We then hopped on the bus and took a tour. The driver showed us where Shakespeare lived, but the house has been torn down. We also saw the house of his wife's family and that of his mother. The house of his wife had been misidentified for many years. It turns out that the one next door is really the "house".

After our tour we went to the cathedral where Shakespeare is buried. He requested that he be buried 15 feet under the ground and he wrote a curse to keep from being dug up and his plot sold out from under him.

The cathedral was a great place to perform. We san a variety of our concert songs. Ali S. and I (Ali I.) sang our first solo part. The youth hostel had packed us a lunch so we had a picnic in the park before getting back on the bus to head to Wales.

During the day we learned the origins of many words and phrases - like sleep tight, which came from the tightening of the ropes that held up the mattresses. In conclusion the fifth day of our 2002 English/Welsh tour was a success.
