Hello everyone! Today was one of the less interesting days, so I'll have tons of fun writing about our exciting bus coach ride. This morning was nice because it was raining. After breakfast at the hotel (which incidentally was very nice - Sandra) we got on the bus - but alas one of the soprano/mezzo who shall remain nameless, left her retainer on a napkin at breakfast, so she courageously rummaged through garbage and rescued it. So then we were off, sadly waving goodbye to our home of three days. We drove for about 2.5 hours to a pretty cathedral called Coventry Cathedral. There we saw the remains of the original cathedral, which had been bombed and set on fire in WWII, and the new building which was built in a modern style. It had beautiful stained glass and pennies in the floor. (It was full of symbolism of peace and forgiveness, with items from may countries of the world and chapels dedicated to peace. - Sandra) We then had lunch in town. We found a little café that served "jackies", known to us Americans as potatoes, at a very good price. In the same shopping center there were many funny little English shops selling funny little English things and then a "Claire's" randomly placed in the middle. (For those of you who don't know "Claire's is a popular accessories shop in the states. - Sandra) At least 10 of the choir kids were in it. From there we went for another bus ride to Stratford - on - Avon where Shakespeare was born. The temperature of the upper tier of the coach was very hot and humid at the beginning of the ride, then it got very cold. At Stratford we checked into the youth hostel with 4 - 7 kids per room. The vegetarian dinner was good and the dessert was wonderfully scrumptiodiddillious. Banana cream…. Stuff. We then returned to the youth hostel for a quick rehearsal and a game of football (soccer). A game of Mao commenced and we had a "dance party". Respectfully submitted by Sara P. PS Tuesday was orange day, with Mr. Herman, Sandra and Lisl leading the way and others wearing it also.
