School's over… yeah right! Today we learned two pieces of Musik with students from the Melanchton Gymnasium of Wittenberg ("Die Gedanken Sind Frei" and "Daniel and the Lion's Den"). After sitting through class, we took yet another walking tour of the city. After hearing about Martin Luther for the 95th time, we picked up baguette sandwiches at the Multi Market. Enjoying our sandwiches and Torrey Pines Yearbook (courtesy of H. T. W. Scott), we sat in the bitter cold and watched more people going into a store selling army supplies that any other store in the town. After lunch, we headed for a "Russian Class" where we sang Kyrie and watched four girls do a cheesy dance to the Backstreet Boys (they lacked the fire). The students exchanged cultural differences within schooling systems and Musik and we made seven pen pals. The only Russian we learned was "Min Yazin root…" (My name is…).

It was Julian's birthday today!! To celebrate, we sang the song (with a special coda by Katie and Jessica… Julia, you chicken!) and Julian got a piece of cake at the hotel. We got to know some of the German lads over "light supper" and later sang a joint concert with them. The concert was great (thanks to the O.T.'s) despite Henry not knowing which song we were singing at each start. We finished with some soup at the hotel and went straight to bed for our 6 A.M. wake up time the next morning!

P.S. Julian and Jason ate white mice (read: Road Trip)!

P.P.S. Thanks to everyone for making my birthday one of the best I've had. I cherish all of the love I receive from everyone in the Choir. It's FABULOUS!!! Danke!
