As I woke up this morning, my heart felt empty. I looked around my tiny room at LBI, feeling the last remnants of our wonderful tour. The end of the tour did not feel real. Today just felt like a regular tour day. While we traveled to the Seattle Art Museum, I was absorbed in thought. Going home was not a tangible thought. Life at home surely couldn’t be the same as when I left. The bus finally arrived at the museum. Everyone got off. My group entered the museum first. We were given CD player headsets that allowed us to take a tour of the impressionism exhibit we were to visit - at our own pace. The paintings were extremely beautiful. After viewing the impressionist’s art, we had some lunch from the museum cafe that tasted rather disgusting. Then came the time for us to head over to the airport. When the choir had finished checking in, we sat in wait of the journey to come. The plane ride home didn’t seem as long as the one up to Seattle. During a conversation with the person sitting next to me, an interesting subject came up. The last concert that we sang on the tour was concluded with the song "I’m Going Up a Yonder". The last words we sang on the tour were "going home". And that was precisely what we were doing. Written by Dani Return to Pacific Northwest Tour Itinerary |
