Krishan Oberoi

Krishan Oberoi is the Director for SDCC’s Youth Choir. He studied at the New England Conservatory of Music and Yale University and received his Master’s degree from the Yale School of Music. He then worked extensively with the Elm City Girls Choir, the top-level treble chorus of Connecticut's United Choir School.

Coming to Southern California, Mr. Oberoi joined the roster of the Grammy-nominated Los Angeles Master Chorale and founded the 24-voice professional vocal ensemble SACRA/PROFANA, specializing in modern choral repertoire. He co-founded the Modern Glee Club of San Diego, a community singing group geared toward young professionals and has served as Chorus Master for the Mainly Mozart Festival at Balboa Theatre, recruiting over 100 local singers for a 2010 performance of Beethoven's Choral Fantasy. Mr. Oberoi also has served as Lecturer at San Diego State University.

Mr. Oberoi is currently an organist at The Immaculata, University of San Diego and his work has been praised by many of the major news outlets in San Diego, including the San Diego Union-Tribune, SanDiego.com, and Fox 5 San Diego. He continues an active career as a vocalist, and has sung with the San Diego Opera Chorus and has appeared at the Hollywood Bowl, Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, The Akropolis in Athens, Greece, and numerous other venues around the world.
