American pianist Janie Prim is in demand for recitals and auditions throughout the West Coast, and was Chorus mistress/Rehearsal Pianist for Lyric Opera San Diego for sixteen years.  She is a principal dance pianist for San Diego Opera, and has served as Musical Director for the San Diego Opera Ensemble, as well as dance rehearsal pianist for past SDO productions, most recently, with Faust and Carmen in 2011.     A versatile performer, she has worked with The Old Globe Theater(Paramour and other special programs), The San Diego Repertory Theater (Burning Dreams), Cygnet Theater (Sweeney Todd, Cabaret and Parade auditions and the pianist in the Christmas favorite, It’s a Wonderful Life), and frequently organizes private musical events for special occasions.  In addition to her performing commitments, Ms. Prim maintains a private coaching studio, and is organist at St. Bartholomew’s Church in Poway.
